Humans
Humans are the most numerous and adaptable of all races found in the Known World. They have spread so far and wide, it became difficult to imagine the world as anything but a human realm. The Elves and Dwarves remember when there were no humans, but that was in a time so long ago it has no name. For Mankind, the Known World is theirs - and theirs alone.
Where a single elf or dwarf might take on the responsibility of guarding a special location or a powerful secret, humans found sacred orders and institutions for such purposes. While dwarf clans and halfling elders pass on the ancient traditions to each new generation, human temples, governments, libraries, and codes of law fix their traditions in the bedrock of history. Humans dream of immortality, but (except for those few who seek undeath or divine ascension to escape death’s clutches) they achieve it by ensuring that they will be remembered when they are gone.
The mightiest empire of Mankind was the Mycean Empire, a vast collection of cities and kingdoms that spanned nearly all of the Known World. Though it collapsed with the Coming of the Comet, Humans pressed on and endured on The Continent of Albion , The Continent of Zinnabar , and perhaps even The Continent of Skargos.
