Feystones
Feystones are powerful stones believed to originate in the Feywild, though the details of their creation is unclear, as most knowledge regarding the stones was lost in the fall of the Maenan Imperium. The Feywild is said to have a much stronger connection to the Manaflow than the Material Plane, and it is believed that Feystones are formed at areas where the Manaflow is so strong that it crosses into the plane, becoming trapped within rock formations.
The stones, which are smooth and typically vary in size from pebbles to a foot in diameter, often glow from within, and range in color from light green to a deep purple. Darker stones are said to contain more mana, and it is thought that the glow is depleted as the mana within diminishes. These beliefs are difficult to corroborate, as there are no records in recent history of a feystone being successfully used to power a device of any kind.
The Maenar found a way to harness the latent power of the stones, and used them to create arcane foci and to power their technological creations.
Many godshalls and Free Temples throughout current day Eos contain feystones, or (more often) passable facsimiles at the their altars; it is custom to touch the stone as one prays, theoretically heightening the connection to a god via the stone's connection to the manaflow
the most famous collection of officially recognized feystones in known existence is currently in the possession of the royal family of Celosia, though it is not accessible to the general public, and is rarely displayed in any capacity.
