The Eastern Horde Invasion

The Conflict

Prelude

Ramping up in the previous 2 years, the Many Arrows orc tribe from the northern reaches of Faerun have once again begun to exert their influence on the smaller tribes in the region. Slowly snowballing as they headed south, away from the vast dwarven strongholds of Mithral Hall that have been their most recent historical rivals, until they reached a horde size numbering in the thousands. Sweeping over vast chunks of territory, they intially threw themselves at the Sunset Mountains, hoping to kill more of the hated dwarves but were largely repelled aside from some small villages in the foothills.
As the dwarves held the line, numerous factions begun to form a coalition. Elturgard soldiers, the first of the nations of men to be at risk gathered soldiers from the Flaming Fist out of Baldur's Gate, and members the Waterdhavian cavalry to hold them at the reaching wood east of Scornubel.

Deployment

For a majority of the war, the coalition largely consisted of the Elturgard until the city of Elturel disappearing with most of its military. Now the numbers are in shambles as they begin to use more guerrilla tactics, using the deep roads of the Netheril to initiate hit and run attacks.
