Halvador (Hal-vah-dore)
Halvador is a city under the Seacross Peaks in the northeastern part of Eastern Galea. It sits where the Numera Strait in the north meets with the Amasha Sea in the east. The peaks slope into Shadowmoor Forest to the south, as the Lamthar River forms within the mountains and flows down. To the west of these peaks is a hilly region that hosts a couple of human towns with which the dwarves trade.
Unlike the greater mountain ranges far to the west and south, the Seacross Peaks are not very high in elevation. Among the top of these peaks lies the ruins of an ancient temple that has long been abandoned. The dwarves, as long as they have lived there, do not remember when or why this temple had been built.
Halvador itself is a small but beautiful, city. It was ruled by King Adelsten Axebeard, who was considered a wise and fair ruler. As most dwarven communities, their economy is primarily made up of mining and blacksmithing, which they trade to both above and belowground communities. They get along with their neighbors, as the humans and elves are both interested in their fine craftwork.
After a years-long war with Obscuran Dark Elves, the Halvadan dwarves were forced to abandon the city-state. Many Halvadan dwarves have founded other settlements within the cavernous Keleshin Mountains and the extensive Verrat Range since.
