Clan Gansúil

There is a Clan within the Ceilic Region despised by both Authenian and Venatorian alike. Clan Gansúil are a group concerned with one thing and one thing only: the survival of Clan Gansúil. They are located in the South of the Ceilic Region, and live a nomadic life.

Structure

Amos Meirleach is the Chieftain of Clan Gansúil, and is known for his skill with a musket, his ruthless efficiency and his reputation of backstabbing those outside the clan that he has made deals with. He is believed to care for the safety and wellbeing of his clan, and little else.   Hairic Eannacht is the Archdruid of Clan Gansúil, and is a devote follower of Crius. He earns money and supplies for Clan Gansúil by sailing the seas and causing storms to destroy small mercantile vessels, so that he and his men can salvage the goods that were aboard.

Culture

Those within Clan Gansúil only feel loyalty to others within the Clan, and to the Titan Gods of Old. They believe that no action has any point if it does not benefit them or the other members of Clan Gansúil. This has led the clan to feel apathy and complete disregard for anyone outside their clan. They will happily kill, steal from and rob those outside of their clan for even the most paltry sum. The only reason they don't do this to everyone they meet is because the risk of death can make the amount of gold on the table not worth the risk. They are taught from a young age how to properly assess the risks of attempted robbery.   Despite how they treat those they do not know, those within Clan Gansúil are incredibly loyal to each other, they are willing to put their lives at risk to help fellow members of the clan. The Clan is tightly knit, with most members being on a first name basis with each other.
"Some believe that the world would be better with anarchy. Of you want to know what the world would look like if a man's only loyalty is to himself and those he loves, look at Clan Gansúil." ~Church Paratir, Grand Archivist of the Authenian Archives.

Military

The warriors of Clan Gansúil are skilled with muskets and pistols, and are known for their speed in reloading and their uncanny accuracy. They are the only clan that has a large enough supply of muskets and gunpowder to be able to equip their warriors like this. These warriors are also skilled with daggers and throwing knives.   The rangers of Clan Gansúil are renowned for their use of magic and longswords. They tend to create magical clouds of mist around their opponents before slitting their throats or impaling them and puncturing their lungs.   The druids of Clan Gansúil prefer to fight indirectly, stalking their opponents from a distance, often taking the form of a hawk or crow. When they want to dispose of an enemy, they cause storms, landslides, raging infernos and hailstorms.

Foreign Relations

Due to its southern position, Clan Gansúil has had little contact with the Venatorian Empire. They have not sent Clan Laoc any aid in their fight against this foreign invader. Clan Gansúil seems adamant to not involve itself in the Venatorian-Ceilic War, unless the Venatorians force their hand.   The Authenian Republic see Clan Gansúil as nothing more than raiders and pirates, due to their tendency to rob and pillage travelling Authenian merchants and trading vessels.

Agriculture & Industry

Much of Clan Gansúil's wealth comes from raiding and robbing other civilizations. They have obtained their supply of gunpowder by plundering Authenian merchantile vessels. They have also used this to gain preserved foods and small amounts of Zestósian wine.   By trading some of this wine with Clan Ráille for a cheaper price than what the Authenians were selling it for, they have managed to obtain large amounts of venison and deer hide from Clan Ráille in return.

Worship

Clan Gansúil is devoted to the Titan Gods of Old. One tenth of everything they earn is sacrificed to a Titan. Crius is thanked in times of fine weather. Iapetus is prayed to in times when great strength is needed, Cronos when they are having difficulty maintaining control of their territory, Coeus is prayed to when they need a plot to succeed, and Hyperion is prayed to when something or someone needs to be found.
