Holgast
Holgast lives on the eastern edge of town in a single story cabin. He is a sage and a mystic, but very old and very forgetful. He is only consulted by the townsfolk when the need is very great. He spends most of his days wandering near Lumberfell reading books and smoking his pipe and taking naps. Monthly he travels either to Wayhill or Port Tavalo to purchase supplies and provisions with his seemingly inexhaustible supply of gold coins which he claims come from his adventures long ago.

History
Holgast met Carter Jordan on his frequent trips to Port Tavalo . As the young man grew he left home for reasons Holgast was not concerned with. The two live together as student and mentor until Carter is ready to make his way in the world.
