War of the Burning Forests

Taking place between 742 and 747 the War of the Burning Forests was a conflict between The Realm of Hargu and the Republic of Tirine . The barbaric tribes of Hargu spilled forth from their region in the south east, moving north west into Tirine. The early conflicts went poorly for the defenders as they were loosely organized and overwhelmed. As the horde from Hargu made it's way past the Dragon's Nest Mountains they met stiffer resistance from the first army ever raised by Tirine. The invaders were eventually beaten back and during this time is where the conflict earned it's name as the retreating horde burned the forests behind them hoping to destroy the army from Tirine in the conflagration. Several wooded areas including the Happy Haunting Woods , the Goblinkin Wood , the The Forest of the Great Hunt and the King Killer Forest were all burned in some capacity.
