Zovharkanhui

The Zovharkanhui is an alliance between, with the notable exception of House Mitrades, several Asuran Houses and unofficially the highest authority in the continent under the Emre Ahya Charter. Its de facto leader is House Vauquelin. Its members include the aforementioned Houses Mitrades and Vauquelin, as well as Houses Ul'viye, Lütfiseg and Ikra. Each House acts independently with one another but convenes to protect one another. Where the Rin Tao is concerned with invasion from the Asuran Houses, the Asurans are more concerned with the harsh climate that makes the continent one of the most difficult places to live in.

Structure

According to the Emre Ahya, all members of the Zovharkanhui are equals but the Vauquelins have the influential position given their grip over the iridium supply and their status as the descendants of the Winged Houses. Only the Ul'viye come close to rivalling their power as the House controlling most of the west coast and consequently trade with the Heartlands. When the Houses convene, they usually send a delegate or aral. The arals are also responsible for regulating the 'free cities' such as Erdene as well as negotiating with the Rin Tao, merchants and other foreign entities.

History

The Zovharkanhui was preceded by a defence alliance between Houses Vauquelin, Ul'viye, Lütfiseg and Mithreid during the war of the Heirnthi Coalition.
