Dermal Rejuvenation Treatment
Dermal Rejuvenation Treatment is offered at the Aestheriums of Renamos, which are centers for health and beauty. The treatment will purportedly renew the skin, replacing older layers with the fresh, nubile epidermis of youth. The Rena place a lot of emphasis on physical appearance, but clients have been known to travel from as far as Evestria and Pelee.
Application
Aestheticians apply cultured cells from the sloughed flesh of patients with Husk Disease to clients. The treatment is removed through exfoliation also taking with it the dead skin to reveal new, smoother skin underneath. It is followed with a steam sauna, hydrating mask, and moisturizing massage.Special Considerations
Husk Disease is a terrible illness that still carries a lot of stigma, especially in less populated areas. It is due to the stigma that the Aestheriums are very guarded about the treatments basis- offering only that it is a proprietary formula. Careful handling is required as although skin to skin contact has been ruled out as a point of transmission, the cultured cells do represent a potential hazard and must be handled with extreme caution.
Discovery
The treatment was accidentally discovered while studying Husk Disease at Astrid's Temple of Life. When working with the shed skin of the infected, it was discovered that although the sloughed tissue did not transmit the disease, contact with healthy skin did trigger excellerated skin growth until contact was broken. One of the Healers shared this new finding with a family member in Renamos, which lead to the new treatment.
