True Crysteria

Founded in roughly -1200 BCA, True Crysteria arose out of natural scientific and religious curiosity, as the religion of Crystal Animism began to spread, and people from all over the world moved to settle upon the previously unsettled continent of Crysteria. The focus of their activities was originally the grand Crystal spire, seeming to contain chambers within, that no one was able to access. The Crysterians decided this was clearly the act of a sentient and omnipotent god.
True Crysteria has always attempted to stay out of global politics where possible, choosing instead to focus on religion and worship of the crystal mother, under Crystal Animism. Almost every form of religion currently known has in some way originated in Crysteria.
In roughly -500 BCA, Crysteria was wracked by terrible earthquakes, causing great damage to the main cities, Khona in particular was reduced to uninhabitable rubble. Surprisingly, the crystal spire remained undamaged, thus furthering the strength of belief of those who worship the crystals as gods.
In -160 BCA, Crysterian trade negotiations broke down with the Olidian nation, leading to a 4 year famine, as the nation was unable to farm enough food to sustain it's populace, in part due to the volatility of the land itself. There is very little arable land, with large stretches of mountain, forest, and plans, along with the divine crystal lake that surrounds the crystal tower.
The invention of Magitek barely had any influence on True Crysteria, as the leadership were initially hesitant to adopt it, out of fear it was an abuse of divine power. They did come to adopt most forms of Magitek later, however. They have very little in the way of Magitek weaponry, but an innate aptitude for magic, which they believe is out of worship and proximity to the great crystal mother, and the crystal spire.
The monstrous upsurge of 238 CA, seems to have only had a minor impact on True Crysteria, and whilst they had to make active efforts to train more spell casters and soldiers, they did not require outside aid to manage the increase.
Throughout history, True Crysteria has remained the most stable nation of all, and the populace have remained one of the happiest, despite the overall lack of financial wealth. This is attributed to their religious beliefs. The formal religion of True Crysteria is crystal animism, however this is not forced, although believes of other religions are often frowned upon socially.
True Crysteria is currently ruled over by Pope Braska Guado.
