The fool of castle black

In the days of old, when men and dragons were told
Jeddard Eremyte, a lord of power and might
Built a castle of stone, that was black as the night

Obsessed with dragons, he sought to make an alliance
With Valathuun, a devourer known for his violence
Jeddard's men traveled to the lands of Oraeva
And made an offer to the dragon.

They spoke of Jeddard's might, and his royal lineage
And how his castle was built to withstand any siege
Valathuun accepted, and to Castle Blackstone he flew
Where he spoke to Jeddard and his people, and this is what he said

"You build walls and call them fortresses, you make yourself a king
You slay men and call it conquering, all these petty things
Here I stand, with no crown, no fortress of my own
Yet I hold the power to lay your lands to ruin, you call me an equal, unknown"

With that chilling speech, Valathuun's rage was unleashed
Melting flesh, metal, and stone, no one's life was left untouched
Castle Blackstone was no more, and Jeddard's dream was shattered
His obsession with dragons, was now all that mattered

So let this tale be a warning to all
Of the dangers of obsession, and the cost of pride's fall
For power and might can never compare
To the life and love that we all share.
