Ausalon (大東, Daitō)

Ausalon is a continent on Erthas spanning from the Arctic Circle to the tropics. It is known to the High Elves as Daitōriku.

Climate

Wide and varied is the clime of Ausalon, from chill and frozen wastelands in the far north, to parched and scorching deserts in the distant south. Between those two extremes can be found lush steppes, deep primeval forests, rich floodplains, and rolling hills and mountains both tall and low.

History

Ausalon has been inhabited since roughly 10,000 PH, when the ancestors of the Elves arrived from the west. Some four millenia after that, the ancestors of the Orcs had begun their migration from the south. The last Human inhabitants arrived circa 1000 PH. The First Age was marked by the arrival of the Ryūjin on Erthas. They divided the world into realms and Ausalon was in turn divided. It was at this time that the continent got its first name, Daito. Then, about 1500A1, the Tíwos came to Daito from the heavens. They came first to the central steppelands and then wandered far and wide. After their following had grown to a great people, they had named the continent Ausalon, the Eastland.
