The Veiled Bay is part of the northeastern
Veiled Sea, and is surrounded on all sides by the coastline of
The Northern Reaches.
Features
The bay, like its namesake sea, has a year round layer of mist above its water. Unlike the main sea, however, the mist within the bay is far more even in distribution compared to the rest of the
Veiled Sea, which has its mist form in uneven, though still large, patches. The mist gets even thicker as the temperatures lower in the colder seasons.
An estuary is located along the eastern shore of the bay, where the
River Glåma runs into the bay from its
lake. Brackish water fish can be found in the waters, and sea lavender grows on the shorts of the estuary, one of two locations in
The Northern Reaches where sea lavender grows in abundance.
The "veiled" nature of the bay, combined with the nature of the
Elderwood which is found on about two-thirds of the coastline around the bay, has given rise to many ghost stories and superstitions among both
Reachmen and Elves. Small fishing boats and even some small ships that have gone missing in the mists add credence to these stories for some.
