River Glåma

Glåma is a river in the Headlands region of The Northern Reaches.

Geography

The River Glåma is the longest river in the Reaches, and the second widest river in Reaches behind the River Vefsna in the Southlands. It flows from southwest from the Mistborne Mountains across the breadth of the Headlands, flowing into and out of the lake of the same name. The river bifurcates northeast of Sentinel Peak, and again at the eastern edge of the Ysgarm Peaks. The two distributaries merge into a confluence southeast of Sentinel Peak, which continues to flow southeast into the Misty Bay, with several small branches flowing off at various points.
The river, as well as its associated lake, is relied upon heavily in the north for fishing, as well as transportation (in the warmer months), making it easier for smaller settlements in the northeast Headlands to trade and recieve supplies. Fisheries are located at various points along the river, though they are more sparse the father east one travels. In the winter months, parts of the river freeze, particularly in the northeastern stretch of the main stream.
