Agista
Agista is an orphan who grew up on the streets of the Tradesmen District since the age of ten. She did odd jobs to get by, helping out different shop keepers here and there to earn enough money to feed herself. She was never the strongest worker that could be found, but she did her work with such determination and drive that people would hire her over the stronger boys. At fifteen she was offered a permanent position helping an elderly soap maker. He and his wife had never been able to have children, and now that he was growing older he needed more and more help around the shop. He said that he couldn't pay her very much, but he would give her a place to live and food on her plate. He brought her in and taught her the ropes. She was a quick study of the basics and was willing to put in a hard days work. However, she did notice that his soap was not selling as well. Since she didn't have any ideas on how to help that problem she kept her mouth shut.
One day she was traveling through the Merchant District to drop off a supply of soap to a servant when she saw someone selling their own soap. This soap was beautiful, almost like a work of art, and smelled like fresh cream with honey. Compared to that, their own soap was harsh smelling and chalky. It wasn't that she was not aware that such soaps existed, but she had not truly seen them in person. By the time she returned home she had re-imagined the entire soap making process. She talked to the elderly man, who was initially against the idea, but agreed to let her use a portion of the shop to test her idea. Sold at a fraction of the cost of the other fancy soaps, she was hardly able to keep up with demand. The elderly man agreed to let her use more and more of the workshop until he was no longer making his soap at all.
When he died, there was a letter on his desk explaining that Agista was to inherit everything he owned. He said that she was a beacon of light that had come into his life, she was the child he never had, the savior of his business. By this time the shop was more hers than his anyway, he had not made a bar of soap in over five years. Now, Agista owns Silver Suds Soap Shop
