Blasted Lands

The blackened and desolate expanse that forms the norther reaches of Eldamir is a savage and unforgiving wasteland desperately trying to recover from the arcane destruction produced by the Dracomachy so many years ago. The Great Northern Expanse was once a temperate region filled with healthy prairies and endless grasslands. However, since the events of the Dracomachy, the region is regarded as the Blasted Lands and is nothing more than a decrepit wilderness, unable of supporting civilization. The territory is now riddled with all forms of monstrous creatures and deadly beasts. Most notable are the hundreds of dragons that have taken the once prosperous, but now crumbling ruins of the city-states that occupy the region as their own dangerous and defiled kingdoms.
