Votar

The massive orc settlement of Votar sits amongst a lonely mountain chain near the northeast coastline of the Giant Steppe. Encircling and covering a massive, cracked hillside, Votar is a sight to behold. The city is a hodgepodge of wooden and stone homesteads, mud huts, and military fortifications, all surrounding Gudjag Gazad, also known as the Great Keep, which sits at the settlement's center. The city is a cultural hub of orcish society in Eldamir. While the metropolis is almost exclusively inhabited by orcs, several communities of goblins, lizardfolk, and kobolds also call Votar home.   Votar is the heart of the Giant Steppe and orc culture. It is simultaneously one of the largest cities in Eldamir, due to its expansive layout, and one of the smallest, due to its relatively small inhabitant population. The city has broad, windswept streets paved in dirt and stone. The architecture is diverse and wide ranging, consisting of carved stone pavilions, villas of woven grass and decorative woods, tall watchtowers, and fortified military structures. Votar spreads out indolently in the warm sun. It is large enough to house all seven of the orc tribes that call the settlement home, were they all to return at once.

Industry & Trade

Votar is the only settlement amongst the Giant Steppe, therefore most basic supplies and equipment are available. Given the militaristic and hawkish nature of the orken community, a number of quality arms and some rare goods are available too. Inns and taverns offer austere and utilitarian accommodations.
