Eal
Prince Eal/Eeyr/Xexis/Nirton
Eal, called Eeyr by the Yiru, Xexis by the Dragons and Nirton by the Naria, is a god in the Areic Pantheon. He is the god of water, travel and medicine. Patron of Sailors and Travellers, he is invoked when you wish to go on a journey. In legend, Eal was reluctant to help Frio and Oria when they presented their ideas but eventually agreed.
Eal helped create the Water Opal, a magical artifact gifted to the ruler of the water riders. Eal is the father of Lord Rolim- the first ruler of Everstone. He has helped the mortals the most out of all of the Arae and is even said to have good relations with many of the Daraic Lords. It is said that all light elves travel to Eal's realm when they die, pirates and sailors travel here when they die.
In Perite and Grina, Eal is known as Nirton, and he has the power of the medicine taken from the sphere. He is said to have gifted the Naria with the knowledge of shipbuilding and trade. In the fourth era, many have come to call Nirton by the name Eal, though those that live near the mountains and on the island of Oliphela still use his ancient name.
In Rosil, Eal is known as Eeyr. The Yiru people say he was the last child of the great cat, Simar and the great serpent Lorh, they gifted his the waters for they needed someone to tame them. As a race that lives on a peninsula surrounded by water they venerate Eeyr greatly, they have been sailing the seas since the start of recorded history. In this tradition, Eeyr is said to be the father of the god of Icereach, Mosro.
The Dragon version of Eal is called Xexis, he is said to have blessed the first water dragons with their abilities and the riders with the ability to breathe underwater. As stated above Xexis also created the Water Opal as a gift for the dragon riders.
