Isfyd (Iss-fid)

Isfyd is the Dimensional Plane of death, created by Lord Death. Located deep within The Hells, this is the place where Lord Death and his apprentices rest and discuss their work with each other. It is also the final resting place for those that Death deemed to have committed crimes against life, the souls dammed to be trapped within the dark halls for eternity.

Geography

Isfyd is set within a colossal underground cavern. Black bedrock in jagged tiered planes pave the ground of this cavern, with cliffs and ravines dotted between each of these tiers. Massive natural pillars hold up the roof and a gentle glow of blue light illuminates the cavern, coming from the trail of souls that float like a flock of birds over the cavern.

Ecosystem

The land of Isfyd is almost entirely dead, there are rare tufts of dry grass or dead trees.

Localized Phenomena

Souls of the damned, who have finally decayed and fallen to the void, leave behind a blue mist. This mist, from a distance, looks almost like a lit fire. Over the years these have built up, which makes the whole cavern look as if there are hundreds of blue campfires being lit. This mist has little effect on the dead, but can cause intense pain when inhaled by the living.

Fauna & Flora

A number of demons, created by Lord Death, roam Isfyd to watch over the souls and protect the realm from intruders.

Natural Resources

The soul mist is a unique resource to Isfyd, which can be used as a potent poison. Collecting it is incredibly difficult for anyone who breathes, as this could easily kill them.

History

Isfyd was created by Lord Death as a place to punish souls that had he deemed to have broken the laws of life. Additionally it would be his home, and a place for his own apprentices and creations to live and learn.
