The Cult of Crimson
The Cult of Crimson is a secretive religious cult dedicated to the worship and eventual revival of The Crimson Betrayer. It started with the remnants of the Betrayer's followers at the end of the first age, and has continued to prevail through the years to the present.
Whilst their membership is small, many acts of violence and dark magic has been attributed to them, and being a member of the cult can be punished with imprisonment in many nations.
Divine Origins
The cult was formed a short time after the start of the second age by the remnants of the Betrayers followers. Many of those who once worshipped the god threw aside their faith after the great convergence, but some were still dedicated to his memory. These most devout followers gathered and agreed to continue to spread the word of what the Betrayer had promised them, telling others that what had brought so much ruin to the world was the act of Truth.
Ever since the cult has acted in secret, rarely meeting and only practicing in private.
Worship
Worship has consisted of mostly simple prayer, but on occasion there have been sacrifices and seances, these are all seen as a way to eventually bring the God back to life. They have also worshiped their god through religious conflict, attacking churches and temples of other gods in the night. The worst of these attacks have resulted in many deaths, even the abandonment of entire villages from the slaughters.
