Half-Dragon
Dragons can mate through shapechange with any of the other species. You can choose what type of species your dragon parent joined with. Half dragons replace most of the subrace’s abilities with their own listed here. The size of the new character will be that of the non-dragon species. Any magical abilities, ability modifiers or skill modifiers are replaced with the abilities and modifiers of the given dragon type. The father is always the dragon part of this union, (a mother dragon would produce a different type of offspring then a half-dragon).
Half dragons can have anything from a nearly normal base race appearance, to a hairless, scaled body with a dragon snout. All half dragons have clawed hands to some degree that allows for the claw damage table below.
Basic Abilities
- Darkvision 60 feet
- Immunity to magical sleep, paralysis
- Spell Resistance (5)
Dragon Blood
For all effects related to Species, a half-dragons are considered a dragon.Breath Weapons
All half dragons have the chance to have a breath weapon when you reach level 2. The damage is a D6. The type of damage is determined by your dragon race. At each even level the damage is increased by 1, or half your level if that is easier. So a half dragon at level 8 would have a 4d6 breath weapon. The number of times per day you may use your breath weapon is also half your level. Range of this attack is dependent on the type of dragon was your father.Hit Dice
Hit dice purchase at half APPL cost for half dragon.Attack
A half-dragon has two claw attacks and a bite attack, and the claws are the primary natural weapon. If you take other weapon proficiencies, you retain this ability. A half-dragon fighting without weapons uses a claw when making an attack action. When it has a weapon, it usually uses the weapon instead.Full Attack
A half-dragon fighting without weapons uses both claws and its bite when making a full attack. If armed with a weapon, it usually uses the weapon as its primary attack and its bite as a natural secondary attack. If it has a hand free, it uses a claw as an additional natural secondary attack.Damage
Half-dragons have bite and claw attacks. If the base creature does not have these attack forms, use the damage values in the table below. Otherwise, use the values below or the base creature’s damage values, whichever are greater.Size | Bite Damage | Claw Damage |
