The long lived races most friendly to humanity first appear within Etacre. They quickly begin conflicts with the extant cultures of the world.

It was approximately 5,000 years before the arrival of humanity that the Elves, Dwarves, Halflings and Gnomes first appeared in the world. The specifics are not well known, as the histories of their peoples are as much mythology as they are historic record. Elves likely originated within Alfheim, as their are other elves still resident of that plane. Why they migrated is not known. Dwarves came from Nidavellir, the movement of their people having been well recorded. It is believed the legendary "dark dwarves" to be the impetus for this. Gnomes claim to be from the First World, though they categorically refuse to explain why. It has been presumed they do not actually know why. No written records are known before contact with Humans. Halflings have little written record of their travels either, as most of their early writing was focused on farm records.
