Lothoras

Geography: The magnificent city in the trees known as Lothoras lies deep in the forest of Va'el. The forest contains many scouting posts for the city but due to the dangers and the sheer wonder of the elvish city there is no other need for any other towns.

Resources: The forest naturally provides excellent Hardwood and due to the magical nature of the forest it grows back very rapidly. Many fruits and fungi are also present in abundance in the forest and provide a majority of the food for the elves that call it their home.

Culture: The city is of course known for its wonderful and awe-inspiring architecture and the way in which it is built. Suspended over the trees with drawbridges and kept safe from the denizens of the forest by a powerful magic field that turns any wildlife that come close to the city in a non-aggressive state that leaves it not a threat to the structure or citizens.

Government: The city is run by and kept safe by an ancient cabal of witches. Their secret and unknown magic is what keeps wildlife at bay and the city safe so their leadership is accepted without question. It is not known what deal was made to lead to the cabal being allied with the city or if they are simply using the city as protection from something greater.

Major Historical Events: The city was once a secluded hub of the Elves until the age of exploration began. The elves were experiencing a plague and none of their magics were working. They reached out to the civilizations to the East and revealed their great city to the mages and clerics of these countries. Leading to a not open, but still very selective approach to who they let into their city.

Major Threat: Due to their history and the reliance on the nature around them they fear further outbreaks of famine and disease.

Defenses: The city is guarded by the large magical barrier provided by the coven. The magical wards calm down wildlife that approach and cause them to wander away and also provide protection from storms, the brutal heat of summer, and harsh winters.

Law: The laws are strict and enforced by elvish rangers and warriors, although crime is very rarely dealt with.

Powerful Players: The hunters, rangers, and scouts are respected and held in high regard among the elves of the city.
