New Lenthras
Geography: The human stronghold of New Lenthras is located on the large navigable river that runs off of Mt. Atlin. The city also lies right on the coast of the sea which has led to a great deal of river and sea trade. Mt. Atlin is an inactive volcano and the nearby area is being mined for copper. The enriched soil from past eruptions grows certain crops very well.
Resources: The main resources in the area are potatoes, corn, and copper. The potatoes are made into vodka, the whiskey is made into corn, and the copped is made into clockwork by the local artisans. The local lands also give birth to great and fast riding horses.
Culture: The city is known for its horse races, grand feasts with heavy drink, and its jousting tournaments.
Government: The city is run by Lord Victor Whitehall, a noble family that has been in power for 5 generations.
Major Historical Events: The city only recently discovered how to make clockwork and is controlling the creation and sales of clocks to gain trade influence.
Major Threat: The city's main issues lie with pirates, smugglers, and thieves who wish to take and sell their alcohol and clockwork for themselves. The Wayfarers are their primary concern and is causing their sea trading to be much less successful.
Defenses: The city is defended by a large fortress at the center of town as well as thick stone walls that surround the city.
Law: The laws are enforced in a haphazard fashion and seem to not punish the wealthy and nobles, while seeming confusing and foreign to outsiders.
Powerful Players: There are a few underground criminal organizations in the city that know how to avoid the strange laws. There are also many nobles, some of which conspire against each other and make the lives of some common folk worse while skirting the law.
