Brighthaven

Brighthaven is a bustling trading post and a beacon of light in the shadow. It can be seen from miles around as it lights up the gloomy horizon. It only hosts a very small garrison but is one of the safest places in the Shadowfell due to its location. Its bustling markets are often visited from the material plane by those who know of its location as there is a stable and well-known shadow crossing half a mile to the east of the town. It can be found in a cave on the side of a hill and is well guarded from both sides of the weave. There is always a group of soldiers posted at the gate and they have a tradition to pass through the gate themselves on the first day of each month to have a drink with the guards on the other side.
