The Gods appear: After Descension AD

it's the year 712 (AD): After Descension It has been 712 and years since the Gods came and influenced the world with their magic. Before the Gods came, older beings 'The Old Ones' ruled the world. The world was wilder, harsh and civilizations were small. People struggled to survive, worshipped the elements and the elder abbominations that ruled the wildernis. Magic was rampant and older civilizations strifed for power. Wizard nation rised and fell, Necromancy ran rampant. Only by the power of better people protecting small cities against the onslaught remained. Wizards raged war from their Tower bastions and ever growing carnage of magic scarred the world.
With what is called as the Descension of the Gods, other influences suddenly appeared. If by a collective prayer for salvation or other influences the Veil between the Gods and this Material Realm became more permeable. The people could contact the Gods - and the Gods started to awnser.
It gave a boost to the more common people, wizards retreated into better organized factions governed by the Gods: Mystra, Savras and others. A new time of prosperity and stability came. The world still has ruins of the days of the Old Ones. A dangerous relic of a dangerous past.
With the Descenscion of the Gods came also the connection to all other Outer Planes. The concept of the Nine Hells, The Abyss and more connected as well.
The Time of Magical Subjucation began.
