Mooncake

A mooncake is a baked good that is usually made and eaten during the festive activities of the Lunar Reunion. It has a shell made from dough and can be filled with sweet or savory ingredients. Mooncakes are usually pressed into a two-part wooden mold before baking, providing an aesthetically pleasing appearance.

Manufacturing process

  1. Create the filling in a paste-like consistency so that it can be rolled into small balls and set aside.
  2. Mix water and honey thoroughly before adding the grain powder and oil.
  3. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until a soft but non-sticky dough has formed.
  4. Divide the dough into small portions and roll them into balls.
  5. Roll the dough into thin, round sheets and place a small portion of filling on it.
  6. Encase the filling within the dough and press the newly formed ball within the two-part wooden mold
  7. Place the pressed raw mooncake on a baking sheet and bake it until it has a light golden brown color.
