Vampire aquired
The acquired vampire, also called created or transformed vampire, first occurred when a vampire took so much blood from an individual that it was already at the brink of death. The victim survived the blood loss but was transformed into a distorted version of the born vampires.
Transmission & Vectors
There are two ways how the condition can be transmitted:
- A born vampire bites an individual and sucks the blood out until it stands on the brink of death. The disease will only break out if the victim survives the blood loss.
- A transformed vampire bites another person. In this case, the condition is transmitted by a substance in the salvia that causes a genetic mutation. The victim can be saved if treated within 24 hours after the event.
Symptoms
The symptoms occur in stages until the victim is entirely changed. The created vampire is vulnerable to injuries until it has entirely changed and is challenging to deal with after the change.
Phase | Symptom |
---|---|
1 |
The victim falls into coma 24 hours after the incident. |
2 |
Rapidly, the body temperature drops until it is almost ice-cold, causing the skin to discolor to a pale white while keeping the tint of the individual's skin undertones within the skin color. At the same time, the body will develop a high sun sensitivity that causes the eyes to adjust to pure darkness. If placed in the sun, the body will burn to ash. |
3 |
A frozen heart due to the cold body temperature causes a missing bloodstream and sequentially undernourishment. The victim will awake at this stage and will develop the craving to consume blood to counteract the missing bloodstream. |
4 |
Fangs will develop to ease blood consumption and nearly insatiable blood hunger. The affected individual gets into a blood rush for about a week. |
5 |
After the week of blood rush, the eye color will change to a bordeaux red with a black line around the outer edge of the iris. The blood hunger decreases until it vanishes completely one year after the incident. |
Treatment
If the second transmission method is the case, the victim can be saved within 24 hours from the incident with a Potion of Blood Resistance. However, the later it is applied, the more likely permanent damage is left, such as increased sensitivity to the sun or a permanently colder body temperature.
Once the disease breaks out, it can't be cured anymore, and the individual gets often hunted down and killed to prevent additionally created vampires.
