Essence Bind

Effect

This curse comes in a few forms. The most common is to hold the essence of a being in one place, keeping things like spirits from moving freely away from their point of origin. This version of the curse is sometimes applied to the living, to prevent astral projection or bilocation.
Another version is to blend it with an element or aspect, so as to make it harder to remove. While Break Enchantment or Remove Curse may still work, the difficulty of succeeding is much higher, and other means of breaking the curse may harm the subject., depending on if the subject is partially composed of an element or naturally contains a high amount of that kind of elemental essence. A skilled caster can cause the curse to entwine with the subject's soul and the very fabric of their body, making it particularly stubborn.
While the curse, in and of itself, is mostly harmless, it is quite capable of being combined with other curses to create multi-layered effects that are difficult to remove.
