The mave'akan build their dome houses out of sandstone waterproofed by lefvada, or depending on proximity to water, adobe brick. Some higher-status mave'akan may build their homes out of granite. Each home has a deep compartmentalized basement where the mave'akan sleep and spend part of their daytime hours, with the pantry and coldroom sectioned away from the living areas. The kitchen and dining room are on the main floor, and there's also usually a basking rug by a sun-facing window.
The houses are tall, to allow the heat to rise to the ceiling rather than settling on the ground level, and to help keep things temperate, cold-infused crystals line the inner walls in intricate patterns. Thick, heavy curtains are also sometimes used to keep out more heat on the hotter-than-average days. The main door of each home is more thick, heavy stone, typically matching the main building material.
Roads are paved with flat andesite stones, leading from each house to the main roads and to the town circle.
