Emperor of Aempis
Emperor Clasnithra Illithra tor Khandea was the second emporer of the Aempian Dynasty.
Never again shall Ethnis see an Emporer so grand.
Perhaps that is for the better.
My people don't need to be free if they are happy
Patient and Cunning
I remember back during the war—hm? Oh. The Rilaem war, of course. Anyway, I remember when he put boots on the ground and marched with us in Titan Company. Probably was just for the optics of it all but he did pull his weight and then some. He was no slouch.
Sometimes he'd join our card circle and play with us. Lost almost every time, but not every time, you know? Just enough to make us think he was just plain bad at it a rich boy with no game. Made us feel good that we had that on him at least. Well, one day he goes in a little haphazardly and we're feeling cocky about his odds so we go all in too.
Took us for everything we had. It was absolutely brutal. Clasnithra was a card shark playing the longest con.
Look at his reign. Wasn't all that different, was it?
Life
Clasnithra was born into the ruling Khandea family as the runt child of a loathsome mother. She dreamed of a totalitarian Aempis on par with the Valuser'ran Supremacy of old, and the Vadakendanic Procession before that, and was forever embittered by what she considered to be a passive rule on the part of her husband's. In Clasnithra, she saw too much of her father, and felt him too weak to love.
Clasnithra, rather than attempt to outdo his siblings in the realms of the physical, sought to become their better through Metaphysics, though his mother was quick to remind him that mastering the meta before the mind and the body makes one a weak caster. Pride wounded, he sought and earned private tutoring from Hierus Nomen, a member of the Aempian Triptych and thus beholden to the Aempian Crown.
When Clasnithra's eldest brother, Vatine, learned that Clasnithra was learning swordplay, he began to surprise Clasnithra with swordfight that left him with worsening injuries, a broken pride, and a deep hatred.
Vatine met his demise at Clasnithra's hand when he started a fight with Clasnithra which he could not win. His mother found her love for him in the fury he demonstrated. She covered the murder, gave him his brother's sword, and promoted him to crown prince.
