Augnir Etherach
A legendary king who ruled shortly before and after Eoragidd. Augnir Etherach united the Guhric and Aetherian kingdoms together and brought peace to the Guhric, Aetherian, Lucerian, Tanach.
Justice and Vision/Focus (King) (Aristotle. Often called the Last King of Rai, The Lion’s disciple)
Early Life
Augnir could perhaps have recognized that Aetherian aversion to money was becoming a problem with retaining themselves as a culture, as the Tanach had embraced some form of mercantilism and was becoming much stronger. Augnir could be a wanderer, a traveller. Maybe he grew up wanting to be a poet? Maybe someone in his life forced him to read poetry.
Augnir did not believe in having a comfortable throne. “Lucerian kings sit too comfortably. Aetherian kings prefer the oak.” He had a throne made of plain oak. Eventually this was turned into symbolic chair that no king should sit in, but in truth later kings wanted the comfort.
Cultural Conflict that shaped Augnir:
Augnir was a sell-sword/hedge knight, which was considered to be an aversion in his home culture (Aetheria).
Current Historical View:
Augnir is viewed largely as the holy and just king. In the book of Aion, he is revered as the King who fought for the messiah. All of the truth in the tales have been embellished to remove parts about him that were unflattering, some of which are considered heretical.
This Unified Kingdom ship could be considered something cool, like the Golden Circle, Golden Table, The United Freedom fighters or some shit, I don’t care. But of course, after his death and the power brokerings between his sons, this fell away, while his daughter fled to the old land and began a revival there (Brea Ethereach) (“My father always wanted to visit these lands, saying this is where the Lion was wounded. He told its people to keep these sacred lands protected, that one day they would be needed”) During Eoragidd, Augnir attempted to crown Aion as the High King, or perhaps was temporarily the high king himself. Maybe Aion refused?
