The only feature of hers he liked was her eyes. They were the only part of her that seemed to be him. A deep blue, they smouldered in the mirror, dancing with reflected firelight. In her eyes, he could see the man he should be.
He wished everyone else could see him too.
— Son of Flames
Farrow was born to the current High Lord Hargrove in the winter of 5325 EA. Named Viola by his parents, he grew up surrounded by privilege and wealth, rarely venturing beyond the walls of the Whitecastle. However, it quickly became clear to him that he was treated differently than his two older brothers. Whilst they learnt history and mathematics from tutors and were drilled on the proper use of a sword, Farrow was taught to dance, paint, and play music. Whilst his parents refused to let him near a sword, he became good at climbing and hiding, watching the Ash Men training whenever he could.
After being read The Adventures of Farrow as a small child, Farrow took on the name of the hero for his own. Whilst his parents quickly dissuaded him from doing so aloud, he never stopped doing so in his own head.   When he was five, Farrow travelled with his father to the capital city of Sanctuary, where he was officially betrothed to the then seven-year-old Camber Elenasia, son and heir to the current High Lord Elenasia. The first meeting between the children almost ended in disaster after Farrow shoved Camber into a mud puddle, but thankfully everybody (except Camber) found the incident amusing.   Farrow has spent the last few months living in the castle of Lord's Rock with his parents and two younger siblings, whilst arrangements are being made for his wedding to Camber in the new year. It is a tumultuous time for him, as he is torn between doing his duty to his family - and burying his true self forever - or refusing.

Oh no, what a shame they don't see Farrow for who he is! His story reminds me of myself in my elementary years..   I do hope he can find a way to be himself sooner rather than later! ^^

Oh, I love him and want to give him a hug. What a brilliant portrayal of dysphoria there in the beginning.

Track my progress on Summer Camp 2024!
