Season opening

The session zero and maybe session one rolled into two parts.

Plot points/Scenes

Intro; The characters have received an invitation from a Steely Dan to his house to talk about a "Business proposal" you will be rewarded handsomely. attached to the invitation is a sack of 1000 gold pieces to bribe them into showing up. when the party arrive at the location on the letter (either one by one or together there choice) its a huge concrete tower entering the building there greeted by a secretary jane "hello there and who might you be darling??" Jane has been informed that 5/6 people will be arriving to meet Steely Dan which are incredibly dangerous with only there names to go by. once jane has directed them to Steely Dans pent house on the top floor they have to climb the 20 flights of stairs leading to a steel door with big letters spelling out Dan on the front. As they approach the door a slot open ups revealing the eyes of a kenku which squawks and then in Janes voice says "Dan your afternoon meeting is here" followed by the clunking of metal and chain as the Kenku unlocks and opens the door for the party. Steely Dan is sitting at a long round table filled with food and wine and invites the people the visitor to sit down and eat "oi pall what you doing standing like a statue get to the table and fill your face" he chews a chunk of chicken as he speaks sipping his wine. once the whole party has arrives and put on the rings he begins to explain why he invited you all "so now all the participants are here why don't we get stuck into my proposal hay... Sound good ok lets go I want to destabilize a religion more precisely my client want Anapyksiouse dead along with all his followers now idk if its even possible to kill a god but if it is this is the perfect time I've got a man on the inside of the church he tells me the Pope has made plans to summon Anapyksiouse from the heavens into a mortal vessel from what I hear all of you are less then a fan of the church and hence might be willing to help me in this endeavor but ofc we have more to offer you the man who I work for is very wealthy and powerful so any wish you desire could be yours if you get this done for me so you in or you out?" he gives them some time to ask some questions but wants to get an answer before he gives you any more info "well know that you agree I can tell you how we get started there is a man called Bishop Robert He runs a local church he's been my man on the inside for years but word just got out he's making a pilgrimage to Mevlova its my suspicion he plans to sell me out to the church and I can't have that so I want you to have a little talk with him make sure he knows I've got the eyes and ears everywhere if he turns hostile break him. More about the Rings "look I hear there is a nasty little Psychic who likes to peek into the minds of people so before I can start this meeting can you all put on these rings which should protect you from any of his peepers" "you want to know more about this Psychic I'll tell you what I know after you put the wring on I don't want that guy to know a single thing about me ore what I know, ok we got our rings on nice and safe from the mind fucker good, he goes by the inspector some kind of master detective working for the criminal under ground and the crown seems he likes to play both side of the coin he may be an ally but I severely doubt it I work in the Information sector so I know just how dangerous a man like him can be, apparently he can read the minds of those he not just there current thoughts but there past ones two some say he can see your future by looking in your eye these rings should stop all forms of divination along us to stay under the radar that said you loose that ring he could be on you in the hour he's a twisted fuck the information I've gotten from him is detailed dangerous and horrific man can see your fucking dreams man." apart from the information above he truly knows nothing about the inspector
Saint John; At the church the players will meet a group of monks asking for directions from Bishop Robert to get to Mevlova they seem to be getting along very well chatting and laughing when you walk in the Heavenly monks happily chat to the party before leaving saying "I'll see you in Mevlova Bob you don't cause any problems while we are gone" Kindness laughs as they wave good bye. Bob seems kind and asks what the party needs at any sign of hostility he becomes nervous calling Simon a paladin who has taken an oath of silence and is a War Priest stat wise while the Bishop is just a simple Priest. "look I don't want no trouble I just wish to spread the good work of Anapyksiouse". Robert is genuinely trying to inform the pope of Dan's actions but only knows that Steely Dan is working with a demon to try to topple the religion he doesn't know how Dan plans to do it, Robert is generally non confrontational but the same is not true for Simon who will strike at the party if they get too rough with Robert in addition Robert is a genuine believer in Anapyksiouse and has been using the funds from Steely Dan to invest in the church the church is his pride and joy. Robert plans to tell the pope even if it means risking his life he will attempt to flee from the fight if things get violent.
more on Simon; Simon is a paladin of silence meaning that he will not break his oath of silence and can cast spells without verbal components in addition he has a magically enchanted maul that stripes people hit with it of there words meaning they can't cast spells that require verbal components. (the creature makes a Charisma saving throw DC 15 on a failed save they cannot speak for the next minute the spell can be ended early by a remove curse spell or if Simon is knocked unconscious) in addition it is a +1 holy weapon which is bound to his vow of silence meaning a creature must make a vow of silence to use the weapon. he wears plate mail with images of Anapyksiouse and celestial writing that reads "as long as the Human nation stands under Anapyksiouse's leaves (as in plant leaves) I shall not utter or speak a word other then his glorious name"
