Although located within Rhosia’s borders, The Godswood is a place apart. This mighty forest is under Kiel’s divine protection – as well as the mortal protection of nymphs, druids, and paladins in his service. Its trees have grown for centuries - some for millennia. As a temperate rainforest, the warm, coastal winds bring a heavy morning fog that obscures the high canopy. Towards its southern border with Rhosia’s Feyvud, tree branches at the understory entangle each other so thickly that there is functionally a second layer of ground high in the sky.
It is a refuge for magical creatures and the ancestral home of fey-blooded creatures. Plants that are extinct elsewhere and ruins from the Age of Creation still grow in parts of the Godswood.
Brave trappers, adventurers, botanists, alchemists, and loggers might try to harvest resources from the sacred forest. Even braver folk might attempt the journey to the heart of the Godswood, where the Spire of Ascension tempts mortals to become gods.
To end the Age of Conflict, Adar stripped the ability of gods to make and destroy other gods. He used the residual energy to fashion the Spire, a perfect, bronze obelisk. Passing the trials contained within the Spire earn mortals a place among the gods. Failure means death. Sadoc is the only one who knows what awaits in the trials of apotheosis.
