Adar stripped the ability of gods to make and destroy other gods. He used the residual energy to fashion the Spire, a perfect, bronze obelisk, which he placed in the Godswood. In addition, he issued The Commandments, a five-part edict to gods and mortals.

I. No one shall achieve apotheosis unless they complete the gods’ trials
II. The gods may not sire offspring with mortals.
III. The gods may not harm one another directly.
IV. The gods may not use their faithful as weapons of religious war.
V. The gods should limit direct intervention in mortal affairs.
