The first apotheosis

Ever the experimentalist, Adar asks Lagahashra to choose a pair of siblings. Lagahashra chooses two elves, a brother and a sister. Adar raises them to Godhood, making Erela and Alere the first mortals to become divine.   As a consequence, two new constellations mark the sky and two new demiplanes manifest in the Divine Dimension: one for each of the newborn gods.

The abilities Alere and Erela gained from apotheosis are similar in strength but not identical in scope to the abilities of their progenitor.   Until Erela's apotheosis, creatures didn't die; until Alere's apotheosis, no undead existed.   Ecstatic with the success of this experiment, Adar began teaching them all that he had learned about creation. Lagahashra sees a kindred spirit in the newly ascended Alere, who uses his newfound godhood to create hybrids and monstrosities.
