Mochi's SC22 Pledge
TRIIIIIIIIIPLE DIAMONDDDDDDD!!!!!
Round 1: Jerna's Diary
The first round of prompts I will fill out, and the ones I actually submit will be for Jerna's Diary. Jerna's Diary is my favourite world of mine, and I thought SC would be a great time to develop the world more. The world is set on Dracosei, a planet in the Yonderverse, so it is still tied to this world and I will probably copy over the article into this world.Prompt 1

Round 2: Ocearia
For the second round of prompts I will be focusing on a new world of mine, Ocearia. Another planet set in the Yonderverse, the new world has zero (will have 1 by the time SC starts) articles, so I will use Summer Camp to develop that world too.Prompt 1

Creative Goal
My goal for Summer Camp this year is to flesh out some of my many planets. I will focus most of my efforts on my planets Ocearia and Dracosei, and then write about other locations as well. Recently I have been struggling with new ideas and motivation, so fingers crossed this Summer Camp will help me - as well, by the time Summer Camp starts I will be completely finished with school.Motivation
Recently, I have been making brand new WA worlds for select planets that I want to develop further. I thought Summer Camp would be an excellent way of developing these planets even more, especially considering Ocearia has zero articles so far and I made the world more than a month ago.Reading Goal
I have a smaller goal for Summer Camp too; reading 100 articles. This side-goal will most likely seep into August, but because of my hefty writing goal I could not care less. I will try my absolute best to support everyone in the community by reading their articles, commenting on them, and generally supporting people with their writing in the WA Discord Server.Writing Goal
I will be aiming for Triple Diamond this year; last year I accidentally made it just past Double Diamond, and I want to push myself further. However, I attempted this many articles once before in October 2021, and burnt out. I am hoping this won't happen again, but I guess we shall see. I am very excited to read tons of other's articles, and hope everyone has fun!My original plan was to write an extra 62 articles (Double Diamond) on creatures in the Yonderverse, for my WA world of the same name. I rethought this plan while writing the pledge, as I thought it would be more interesting and enjoyable if I followed the prompts for different worlds. I still might attempt 31 new creature articles in this world, but since they do not take long to write as they are essentially rewrites of old articles + new information, I feel like it is cheating and I will probably end up writing more versions of the prompts.
Nevertheless, I hope everybody enjoys themselves this Summer Camp, and I am very much looking forward to seeing what everybody writes!
Expanse
Expanses are absurdly common in the Yonderverse. For Ocearia's prompts, I will have a hard time picking where to locate my prompts, since there are just so many expanses. While writing this, I had the idea of creating a sky settlement as an opposite to the underwater planet, which would definitely be something interesting. I doubt I'd have trouble fitting that into "expanse" either.
For Dracosei, my first though was settling in Maerkhor, a massive continent of tundras. This is where Dragonbone Tavern is located, my article for the Tavern Challenge, so it would be fun to reference it somehow.
Leadership
Leadership will definitely be the most difficult prompt batch for me, based on the theme at least. For Ocearia, I have many kingdoms with leaders I haven't even begun to think about, political, religious, etc. This could definitely give me a chance to think about the people of this planet, which I don't enjoy as much but I really need to do.
The same thing applies to Dracosei, except I have already thought about one leader of some sort. This is the leader of Khaltos, a town on Kazaharo Cliffs, so I have a headstart in this world.
Discovery
Discovery will be very interesting, because "discovery" is the entire point of Jerna's Diary as a world. In Ocearia, there is probably a large portion of the world left undiscovered by certain species. It would be fun if I looked at some explorers who discovered new locations, or new medicine, new species etc.
For Jerna's Diary, Jerna herself discovers the planet's secrets, so there are tons of options for me.
Monstrous
As an ocean planet, Ocearia has many, many monstrous things I could write about. Particularly the species and environments can be rather monstrous. As well, some people are monstrous and wicked which would be fun to write about.Dracosei has some of the most corrupt societies in the Yonderverse, making "monstrous" an easy theme for this planet.
Inspiration
Video Games
What tends to inspire me most are video games. The most inspiring video games for me are Subnautica and Slime Rancher. These two games are vastly different in terms of aesthetics, style of playing, and pretty much everything, but the fantasy worlds they are set on are so rich with life I can't help but want to fit them into the Yonderverse. In fact, my planet Osao is based on Slime Rancher and Ocearia is based on Subnauticas 1 and 2.
That sounds ambitious, but you can do it!
Thank you!
