The Tantalus vines are a bioweapon as psychological warfare. The vines are highly invasive parasites which take arboreal lifeforms as hosts. The vines stay hidden underneath the bark of the tree until it is winter, once the seasons change these vines emerge trees throughout the planet. The Tantalus vines mutates it's host, producing a fruit which emits a pheromones that causes Sentients great pleasure, this substance has a 100% addiction rate, and the sensation growing stronger as they get closer to the fruit. Once within a feet of the hanging fruit the vines emit a substance that causes extreme pain to the Sentient. Due to the highly addictive nature of the pheromones the Sentient is unable to walk away from the tree. The pain will grow in intensity until it overwhelms the pleasure and they can no longer bear it. Nearly 93% of victims commit suicide hanging themselves with the vines. The vines then constrict the corpse and drains it for sustenance, releasing airborne spores to repeat the process. These vines can transform a Tier 3 planet into a deathworld within the day. Those that hear about these horrors fear the oncoming winter, for when the frost melts, only bodies remain.

I'll get around to drawing the rest of the seasons- and eventually adding plants- at a later date when my drawing software works. Pinky promise. But, hey, at least you can learn what rimestones are.
I'd suggest skipping the calendar-y stuff and hitting "seasons" in the first paragraph to skip to the relatively good stuff.

I like it. It looks like a region that brings forth a lot of strong and enduring warriors. And the art style is awesome too. These shadows around the peninsula really give a feel of depth.
