Chattering skulls

The The Cult of the Red Skull is currently divided into several smaller research groups and they are trying to find all the sites containing the mysterious hieroglyphs throughout Damus. Local deputy leaders and higher-ranking, independent Mystery hunters each have a special skull, which they use for communication. Most often, the location of the meeting held every new moon or the latest discoveries are communicated in this way.

The Chattering skulls was made from human or elven skulls, in the State of Neoron, before the mission started. The skulls were engraved with magical runes and decorative motifs. It has been given a special charm so that when the leader of the Cult of the Red Skull, Giffard Sternstar, speaks to the piece he is holding, some or all of the associated skulls sound at his will.

This is an experimental technology that Giffard began to develop specifically for this mission. Because of this, sometimes doesn't work exactly as its creator intended. Larger tropical storms and similar noises disturb the "broadcast" that the speech and the background noise are mixed into a hiss. Communication is one-way, so Giffard never be sure if his message has reached its destination or not. In addition, other Chattering skulls tend to get involved in private messages, that he did not intend to send elsewhere. Giffard is confident that he will able to overcome these problems in time.

With which apparently nothing could be done, but it is extremely annoying, that the skulls every time sounds with a hissing falsetto tone. Giffard feels like this ruins his image in front of his subordinates. For this reason, he tries to communicate what he has to say in the most definite and concise way possible. In any case, the skull giving orders in a high-pitched voice is more of a comic than a scary phenomenon.

I absolutely adore that the skulls like to listen in to the leaders conversations and spread gossip - chatty little fellers. That high-pitched voice distortion too. The mix of the macabre of using skulls as tools and the comedy they provide is brilliant!
