Dustrunners of Ganu

In the barren regions of Ganu, the transport of goods was a dangerous task. Most of the traffic within the eastern region was carried out exclusively via ships. In the Fourth Era of Utea the Ganu Foreign Trade Office, a merchant guild led by rough mages and adventurers from Zililon, revolutionized desert transportation when presented the dustrunners in their land caravans.
The originally presented vehicles were wooden sleighs with an open deck and sunshade made from sailcloth, designed to allow the vehicles to move easily on sand and grass. Traction is provided by the 2-4 Dustrunners attached to the front of the sleds. These huge, lizard-like magical beasts rule in the Bor and Borg regions.
The later models differ in size, depending on their superstructure useable as freight carts, passenger transporters, or caravans. Commercial vehicles are crewed by one driver and at least two guards and they are generally larger than the ones for personal use. The most modern ones have built-in armor and mounted crossbows.
The first dustrunner merchant caravan started from Vrikdarok and went to Ravac Keep via Mulush, Woglug, and Gomoku. Its appearance caused serious upheaval among the local Segaii. The sight of the tamed dangerous beasts instilled respect for the foreigners and the people of the villages willingly traded with them. The GFT saw the opportunity in the reaction and besides the normal commercial activity, they started to build dustrunners for sale. Over the next decade, the dustrunners merged with the image of Ganu's civilization. Their spread went beyond traders and Segaii, the AUN soldiers, and even the Bugit tribes began to use the vehicles that were mostly built by themselves.
The Dustrunners are still only used by the trade caravans. Segaii and Bugits used their farm animals for towing, warlords or chieftains made slaves do the work for parades, and soldiers used mountain goats, horses, or other creatures.

Another really creative response. I love the dustrunners. The people who made the vehicles were resourceful indeed.
