First Hunt

As with most peoples close to nature (such as the Segai or the Elves  hunters play an important role as warriors and providers of their tribe. The First Hunt is the introductory event of the elf initiation ritual, followed by the Initiation day (just before the summer solstice, the Night of a Thousand Stars celebration).
The young people of the tribe who have reached young adulthood start their preparations even months before the Hunt. They can only set off with their equipment. This weapon and clothing will also be their first possessions as adults. Before the start of the First Hunt, young people gather with their families, often with their entire tribe, and listen to the speech of the Leader of the tribe, which is usually about Goddess Narmiraen and the balance of Nature. The priestesses bless the young hunters, and they go to the wilderness to take their first independent steps. They spend at least three days away before heading home. The Hunt lasts a whole week anyway. During this time, those who return home largely unharmed and with acceptable prey must treat their family and the leaders of the tribe with a meal, thus also proving that they have learned to process the meat, fur, and bones obtained from the hunt.
Young people who have completed the Hunt can participate in the Initiation Day. Those who failed in the hunt can try again a year later. It is rare for a young hunter to lose his life during a test, the leaders of the tribe allow only those who have already proven themselves to their teachers to participate. Candidates who die during the Hunt are buried in the manner of children, and all young adults try to avoid this.
