The Fae
Members of both the Seelie and Unseelie Courts were displaced from the Fae Realm during the Age of Horrors at a time when Wild Magic ran rampant and when the barrier between realms was thin, Everall. Some of the Fae were, unfortunately, caught on this side of that barrier between the Prime Material Realm and the Fae Realm. They appeared throughout the Sylamare Woods, part of the Elven nation.
Only about 400 folks of Fae heritage were trapped here, but their numbers have grown to around 1600 in total since the Age of Horrors has passed. They have banded together to create 4 small towns throughout the Sylamare Woods. The Fae tend to keep to themselves, although they appear to be friendly with the Elves. The Fae are often thought of as mischievous and blamed for harmful activities from pranks to more serious things like kidnapping and murder. The Fae seek a way back to their own realm and truly have no interest in the affairs of those who live in Everall.

Culture
Major language groups and dialects
Most of the Fae use both Sylvan and Elvish languages. Some, depending on their nature, can also understand and possibly speak Celestial, Draconic, Common and Druidic.
Culture and cultural heritage
The Fae are known to honor Moi Shua but whether they worship her or any other gods for that matter is unknown. Those Fae who belong to the Seelie Court tend to be more benevolent, honor and repay favors, but are prone to mischief. Those Fae who belong to the Unseelie Court is typically viewed as the very opposite of the Seelie Court. Humans, especially, view them as malicious. These Fae tend to prefer harming over helping. Those of the Unseelie Court are known to travel at night in small groups to assault travelers physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Shared customary codes and values
The Fae are magical creatures closely tied to the forces of nature. They tend to dwell in groves and forests. The Fae are split into two courts, the Unseelie Court and the Seelie Court. Due to this and the variety in their heritage, it is hard to describe their shared values or make general assumptions about this varied group. Some examples of Fae are dryads, pixies, satyrs, centaurs, hags, sprites, treants, boggles, darklings, and woads.
Common Etiquette rules
- Names matter. It is unwise to give a Fae your name. They may use it to take advantage of you or to further their sway over you.
- Words matter. Fae don't mince words. They are bound by their words and they mean everything they say. Just... perhaps not the way you interpreted their words.
- Iron is harmful to the Fae. So if you are seeking favor from the Fae, it is best to avoid carrying anything with iron.
- Never eat or drink anything offered by the Fae. These items are not meant for most folks to consume and can have side effects ranging from death to being trapped with the Fae forevermore.
- Don't step into Fae Rings as it can offend the Fae around and insult them, which would make them rather vengeful against you.
- Never accept a gift from a Fae, as it undoubtly comes with strings attached.
Common Myths and Legends
Legend says that the Fae were created from stardust when the world was being formed long before any of the other races of Everall set foot upon the land. They have lived in their Fae Realm since long ago. Even the Fae themselves are not quite sure of their origin.
One myth about the Fae that is pretty common in Moyenne, especially amongst the human settlements, is The Taste of Sunlight.
