Dømtby

Dømtby is the second biggest city of Morsgoava. The City is run by The Aunts of Frigg, female Clerics that never leave Dømtby's grand monument, The Cathedral of Frigg. These clerics have a connection with Frigg that allows them to give birth to her children, celestial blooded people, pure Morsgoavians. This practice elevates any type of natural sin that other races and people are born with. They are not considered birthparents since Frigg is the babies mother, hence the name The Aunts. Which can cause a bit of elitism, however the teachings of Frigg do emphasis neutrality in other peoples affairs. So anyone will receive a friendly welcome to the city and Morsgoava (Morshjem is the most populated trade city in Anatarachi and Ewica), however pure Morsgoavians are treated like family.

Demographics

Dømtby is an upper middle class religious city with next to no homeless. Humans make up 55% of the population and all of them have a very pale completion (except those that tan in the working class). Elves make up 23% making them the most common, there is a 50/50 split between wood elves and high elves. Dragonborns are always Brass colored and make up 15% of the population making them uncommon. Halflings make up 4% making them rare. Tieflings make up 2% of the inhabitants, the highest in all of Morsgoava. The rest of the 1% of races can be seen as merchants and travelers but typically don't live here. There is still a tiny community of Dwarves that exist as workers in the quarries and carpenters that upkeep their original architecture.

Government

Theocratic Matriarchy. The judicial system is run on a code of ethics that is enforced by holy knights appointed by The Aunts, A group of cleric women who live and run The Cathedral of Hera. The Aunts have been known to act as a Supreme Court in extreme cases. The word of the holy knights are law, banishment from the holy land is preferred to the death penalty.

Defences

There are no infrastructural defenses, the protection of the city is left to "The Aunts" guidance for the holy knights and the goddess herself.

Industry & Trade

Masonry, Pottery and boarding are the major trades. As well as clothing, cobbling, candle-making and silversmiths. But the Holy Orphanage that sell children to adopting parents fuels the economy the most.

Infrastructure

Besides the main road that leads to the Cathedral at the far end of the city, all buildings off the main road are residential. Devout followers of Frigg wanting to live close to their goddess. The main road does have some shops, and some merchant and artisan stands, though it is not known for it.

Guilds and Factions

The Morsgovian Natives

A faction from Friggstyrke that consists exclusively of dwarves. Dwarves used to be the exclusive race of Morsgoava and Dømtby was the first settlement of Frigg. As Frigg's popularity grew, so did the populous of Humans, Elves, Dragonborns and Halflings under the mass breeding of "The Aunts". There are about 40 members of this faction living in Dømtby that work in the quarries and work as carpenters that keep their ancestor's architecture looking pristine.

History

The Natve Morsgoavians, after the Divine Cleansing were the sole population of the sole city of Morsgovia, The holy city of Dømtby. Realizing their patronage towards any refugee of the Divine Cleansing who would follow Frigg was leading to a over-population problem, they decided to send out a scouting party into the Friggfjell to find a fertile land to build another city. However, a small cult made up of humans, elves and dragonborns, claiming to be the purest followers of Frigg began rising in popularity after a prominent member performed what could only be described as a miracle. Eventually generations of inbreeding, and other social groups leaving to start other Morsgoavian cities, led the Pure Morsgovians to be the main social group of the city. The construction of the cathedral was halted, as word of the state of Dømtby persuaded the dwarves to begin building residencies in the mountains. Eventually, the Natives were considered second class citizens and were encouraged to make the cathedral location their permanent residence as well. Not all left however, a small population of dwarves can be found still working in the quarries of Dømtby and renovating the architecture their ancestors created as carpenters.

Architecture

Clay buildings with quartz accenting. Rounded circular bases that grow smaller and more cylindrical with height. Almost like the shape of a feminine-formed flask. Residential buildings do still have straw roofs, while the shops on the main street seem to have stone shingling. The Cathedral is the combination of fine masonry, pottery, and carpentry. It has the same architectural style but is made of quartz and accented by clay pottery attached to its walls. The Pottery has rare gemstones on them as well.

Geography

Built around grassy plains with small hills. The hills can be quite rocky, allowing quartz quarries to be a common resource.
