Ashguard Garrison
The Ashguard Garrison is the partner fortress to the newer Rockguard Garrison, and the two strongholds flank the city of Bladegarden. On the south side of the Brokenveil Bluffs, Ashguard sits atop a steep mountain pass that slides into the Brokenveil Marsh of Xhorhas, making it near impossible to assault from the front. Although the garrison successfully repelled the dangers beyond for many years, during the War of Ash and Light it fell to a series of clever assaults from the Kryn—they used magic to darken the sky and cause confusion while their forces burrowed beneath the battlements. Over a thousand Dwendalian soldiers were slain, two thousand more were captured, and the army was pushed back to Bladegarden.
In the aftermath of the assault, the fort was commanded by Sken Zabriss, a particularly brutal Aurora Watch general who had the entirety of the captured Righteous Brand garrison executed without trial. When the intrument of armistice was negotiated between the continent's two great powers, Sken and a number of other combatants were exchanged between them to serve as guarrantors towards future peace. The fort itself was returned to the custody of the Dwendalian Empire.

Government
The garrison is currently led by Captain Maximillian Holst of the Righteous Brand, who takes his orders directly from Marshal Ishmara, in Rexxentrum.
Defences
The vast majority of the occupants are frontline soldiers of the Righteous Brand. Mobile siege engines stand at the ready.
Industry & Trade
Beyond the rations needed to survive and small-scale trade between the soldiers, little commerce is available.
