The Chamber of Whitestone
Generations ago, a team of intrepid explorers and fortune-seekers sailed from Port Damali in Wildemount to northeastern Tal’Dorei through the Shearing Channel, but wrecked upon the Alabaster Sierras’ rocky cliffs. The expedition was led by the Blanc family, and these brave humans led the survivors to safety after the wreck. They took refuge in a valley within the Alabaster Sierras, and there they discovered the holy Sun Tree, a radiant tree blessed by The Dawnfather. A community grew around the Sun Tree, and the respected and beloved Blancs were asked by their shipwrecked allies to be the leaders of this new settlement. Pressed against the chalky cliffs of the Alabaster Sierras, their new homeland was dubbed Whitestone.
The sovereign city-state of Whitestone enjoyed peace for many generations, secluded from the rest of Tal’Dorei and Wildemount. This serenity was destroyed when the Elemental Scions ravaged Tal'Dorei, with the Scion of Storms targeting the nearby city of Westruun. As packs of refugees flooded into Whitestone, five whitestone obelisk wards were rapidly erected with the help of arcane academics from Westruun's Westhall Academy. These wards created an illusory field over the whole city, masking it from elemental hunters tracking the refugees.
With Whitestone acting as a temporary safe haven, military leaders from the Tal'Dorei city-states met to discuss unified military action. This unity marked the start of the Elemental Scions' downfall. A year-long conflict ensued, as the combined forces of Tal'Dorei and several impressive heroes repelled the incoming elementals. Once the last of the titans was defeated, Whitestone officially joined the Republic of Tal'Dorei.
Over the past 20 years, the Chamber of Whitestone has continued to rule over its people, restarting the era of progress heralded by the Blancs. With their new status as a member of Tal'Dorei, economic relationships have only grown stronger. Their Residuum sales have especially skyrocketed, as Kraghammer and the League of Miracles have leveraged arcane prowess and engineering might to rebuild much of Tal'Dorei. Along with the ever-popular leadership that he holds over Whitestone, Lord Sebastien Blanc makes sure that his voice is always present in Emon through his handpicked delegation to the Tal'Dorei Council.
