Wildemount

continent of great adventure

The continent of of Wildemount spans the north-western expanses of Exandria, separated by the Lucidian Ocean from the Continent of Tal'Dorei. It's climate reaches from the tropical froests of the Menagerie Coast to the icy wastes of Eiselcross and the Greying Wildlands. The Continent still bears deep scars from the great celestial battles of the Calamity, especially the Wastes of Xhorhas and Blightshore in the east, but society has long returned to the continent. The different countries and organizations are a powder keg waiting to explode. Tensions between the Dwendalian Empire and the Kryn Dynasty have recently erupted into open war, and great upheaval is making it's way through the lands.

Geography

The regions of Wildemount

Menagerie Coast Spanning the length of Wildemounts's southwest coasline, the Menagerie Coast is a lush, rain-swept, tropical region filled with scattered forests and jungles, rocky seaside cliffs and beaches, overgrown islands and bustling trade routes across the land and the Lucidian Ocean. The coast is ruled by a nation comprised of city-states whose cultural and political leaders have united to from the Clovis Concord. This land is known far and wide as a place for lively trade, vibrant art, performance and excellent food - as well as the indulgence of vice, piracy and illicit business.

Wynandir. To the north and east of the Menagerie Coast and across the Cyrios Mountains lies Wynandir. This region is bisected by the Ashkeeper Peaks into eastern and western portions. In Eastern Wynandir lie the Wastes of Xhorhas and the Blightshore, while Western Wynandir is split into the Marrow Valley and the Zemni Fields. Western Wynandir. These temperate expanses of rolling hills and fields, dissected by mountains, forests and swamps are largely ruled by the Dwendalian Empire. This region is split into the Zemni Fields and the Marrow Valley. Large metropolitan areas like Rexxentrum, Zadash and Bysaes Tyl, centers of commerce, culture and industry are separated by rural areas of farmland and wilderness. The Dwendalian Empire is a controlling kingdom intent on expanding it's infuence beyond it's current borders - will it prevail or will it collapse from the outside or within? Eastern Wynandir. The city of Ghor Dranas, now renamed Rosohna and capitol of the Kryn Dynasty , was the main hold of the Betrayer Gods and subsequently was the focus of the most destructive attacks. the surrounding lands are now a barren wasteland inhabited by dark elves, goblinkin and other strange folk. To the south, the landscape grows more hospitable. Here, the Scars of Scale and Tooth , a dragonborn society, reign in their capitol of Xarzith Kitril. On the eastern shore, the Blightshore is still imbued with much destructive magic from the Calamity, making it hard to populate.

Biting North. The high north of Willdemount, sparsely populated and littered with danger as well as adventure, is split into the Greying Wildlands and the islands of Eiselcross.
Greying Wildlands. Pressed against the northeastern coast of Wynandir is a desert of ice and snow, separated from the Dwendalian Empire by jagged mountains. This landscape of dense, dessicated forests, rolling mountains and icy tundra and the strange Savalirwood in the south is an unpleasant place, with most civilisaion being simple fishers and gatherers or barbaric gangs and crime families. Tucked in the Flotket Alps, the city of Uthodurn, populated by dwarves and elves alike, is a bastion of civilisation and ingenuity in and otherwise rough landscape. Eiselcross. The coldest reaches of Wildemount are a group of eight icy islands, some mountainous and all inhospitable. Few homanoid people manage cold lives here, but remnants of past Ages, such as the crash site of the once-floating city of Aeor and the mythical River Inferno, a stream of lava cutting through the icy wastes, attract explorers and adventurers from far away lands.
