Arkipelago

Megastructure based off-shore, the aquatic equivalent of an Arcology. House populations as well as engage in selective and controlled harvesting of oceanic resources, including algaculture for food and desalination for fresh water. Arkipelagos vary dramatically in size and structure and not all are completely fixed in location. The populations of arkipelagos (aka Rafters) are often viewed with suspicion by the leadership and populations of other megastructures because of their suspected/known tolerance of sea-based Ferals.
