Balknash Propper is the territory to the north of the Great Central River. The territory proper also includes the major islands of the inland sea as well as the two Trade Cities in the Southers parts of the Southern Territories. The area known as the Southern Territories is not considered to be the Heartland of the Balkhash nation but is considered more like a protectorate or a buffer territory.

The Two Southern Trade Cities are vital to the economy of Balkhash and are considered to be part of Balkhash's proper. Trade is a very large part of the economy so people working in this industry have a high status in society.

The capital Juniff is a port city with a very substantial mystic compound and government buildings.

Culture

Balkhash is the southernmost of the mystic countries which is established around monks and mystics from the Heldania Cult. Which has its heart in the Mountains of that own name.
