Riviere Du Sable

The Riviere Du Sable or "Sand River" as the name suggests flows through the desert sands towards the northern coast. It joins the Rivière de glace or "Ice River" before it reaches the ocean. The River Trade is the second most important cross-desert trade route in The Continent of Karnak after the crossing that closes the desert via Sandtown. The river is navigable via a low clearance barge up to the city of Marche Sud where it is reloaded onto land transport to finish the crass desert trade.
The mouth of the river near the coast is not navigable due to constant shifting sandbars. The Barge traffic needs to be offloaded onto carts for the last leg of the trade route, where it is then taken to Port De Locean the only deepwater trading port on the Bek Budi coast, for further transport through the Petchenegs Sea region.
